Pastor Misti joined the mission at St Paul UMC in 2024 as their pastor and serves as a Chaplain Major in the Tennessee Army National Guard with the 176th Combat Sustainment and Support Battalion based out of Johnson City, TN.
She graduated from Maryville College in 2003 with a major in chemistry and minors in math, physics, and biology

She graduated from Maryville College in 2003 with a major in chemistry and minors in math, physics, and biology and worked in Oak Ridge, TN as a chemist until called to ministry. Joining the Kentucky Army National Guard in 2009 as a Chaplain Candidate, Pastor Misti attended Asbury Theological Seminary, graduating in 2013 with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling. She transferred to the Tennessee Army National Guard in 2014 and was assessed as a Chaplain while taking her first appointment as a pastor at Englewood UMC in Englewood, TN and Pleasant Grove UMC in Etowah, TN. Her next appointment was at First Broad Street UMC in Kingsport, TN where she served as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship.
At seminary, Pastor Misti met her husband, Chris McCreary, who received his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. They married in 2012, and together they have an eight-year-old daughter, Zoe, and two cats, Gandalf and Beerus.
Cheryl is a graduate of Wytheville Community College with an Associate Degree in Administrative Support Technology.
Rohna is a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Music Education. She has studied at Duquesne University with an emphasis in the M.A. Music Education program.
Leslie received her Bachelor of Music degree from Radford University and studied voice with Professor Clarity James. She is also a music teacher and choir director at Spiller Elementary School and sings in the Wythe County Community College Choir.
Zella is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a major in Accounting and a minor in music.
Michael Thayer enjoys volunteer at the Open Door Café.
